From the Pastor to you:
Today, we gather in recognition of Veterans Day—a federal holiday observed each year on November 11 to honor all who have served in the United States Armed Forces. On this day, we pause to give thanks to the men and women who have faithfully worn the uniform of our nation. Their courage, sacrifice, and steadfast devotion to duty remind us of the high cost of freedom and the sacred value of service. Many stood in harm’s way so that others might live in peace, and their willingness to serve reflects, in a profound way, the very heart of Christ, who “came not to be served but to serve, and to give His life as a ransom for many” (Mark 10:45).
As we remember our veterans, we also honor the families who have stood beside them—the spouses, children, and loved ones who have borne the quiet burden of separation and uncertainty. Their strength, patience, and unwavering love are themselves acts of faithful service, deserving of our deepest gratitude and recognition. Let us pray that the peace for which so many have fought and sacrificed would take root not only among nations, but also within our hearts, our homes, and our communities. May God bless our veterans, comfort those who mourn, and guide us all to be instruments of His peace in a world still longing for His kingdom of justice and grace.
Here at RockSpring Church, we are especially grateful for those within our own congregation who have served in the military, those who are currently serving, and those who will serve in the future. Let us continue to remember them in our prayers, asking that God’s hand of protection, strength, and blessing be upon them always.
In Christ,
Rev. Won D. Kim
The Lead Pastor of RockSpring Church
