From the Pastor to you:
In the United States, Election Day is held on the first Tuesday after the first Monday in November. It is a day when citizens across the country participate in democratic processes to choose leaders at local, state, and federal levels. For many states, including Texas, this is a day to exercise the civic responsibility of voting and to participate in the governance of communities. Today, November 4th, across Texas and our nation, people will step into polling places and cast their votes. For many, Election Day carries a mixture of hope, anxiety, and conviction. We care deeply about the direction of our communities, our schools, and our nation — and rightly so. Yet as followers of Christ, we are reminded that our ultimate hope does not rest on the outcome of any election, but on the sovereignty of God who reigns over all nations.
Psalm 22:28 declares, “For kingship belongs to the Lord, and he rules over the nations.” That single verse centers our hearts. It reminds us that while elections may determine earthly leadership, God’s kingdom is never up for vote. His authority is eternal, His justice unshakable, and His purpose unstoppable. As Christians, we are called to be responsible citizens — to participate, to pray, to vote with wisdom and conscience. But we are also called to do so without fear or hostility, remembering that our first allegiance is not to a party or platform, but to Jesus Christ. So, if you are casting vote today, take a quiet moment to pray: for God’s wisdom to guide your choices, for peace to prevail in our communities, for humility to replace pride, and for grace to abound where division has taken root. And above all, remember: Christ is Lord. His kingdom does not rise or fall with the tides of human politics. It endures forever — and in that truth, we find rest. To God alone be the Glory!
